Dan Chiu
Founder
Dan is a founder of HD MADE, starting the company to help the brands that he believes in develop 'big ideas' to change the world. Dan has more than 10 years of experience developing business strategies, growing audiences and building innovative products for influential brands like ESPN, NASDAQ and Robin Hood. When he’s not in the office, he might as well be in the office. What can he say? He loves what he does. Go Blue!
Henry Lee
Founder
Henry is a founder of HD MADE. With more than 16 years in design, Henry was driven to start the company by his passion for building compelling digital experiences that tell a story. Before HD MADE, Henry was the Art Director of ESPN The Magazine, where he helped grow the circulation from 500,000 to 1.5 million. Henry also helped build ESPN Mobile, ESPN SHOP and ESPN Publishing. When he’s not being artsy, Henry is ju jitsuing, biking, and not using an iPhone. That’s right, folks. No iPhone.
Zach Ambrose
CTO
Zach is HD MADE’s CTO and has been part of the NYC tech scene since 2006. Before joining HD MADE, Zach was Tech Lead at Proof Integrated Communications, where he built web, mobile and social products for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. He has a degree from Middlebury College in film, with additional studies in computer science. In his free time, Zach brews beer, builds distortion pedals and tries to push the threshold on the spiciest foods he can eat. He’s also really, really into airplanes.
Alex Honeysett
Content Lead
Alex is HD MADE's content and communications expert. Prior to joining HD MADE, Alex ran PR for NASDAQ's MarketSite broadcast studio in Times Square and NASDAQ’s Corporate Solutions business. Prior to NASDAQ, Alex was a PR Manager at Thomson Reuters, where she led the communications efforts for Reuters’ Europe, Middle East and Africa news bureaus out of London. When she isn’t writing her biweekly column for The Daily Muse, Alex is plotting her next (she means first) novel and stalking down meatball trucks in NYC.
Courtney Montague
Social Innovation Lead
Courtney is our resident expert on social innovation and nonprofits. Prior to joining HD MADE, Courtney founded and ran the online nonprofit organization Global Volunteer Network Foundation for six years. During her time there, she led her team to develop and launch a number of online grassroots campaigns that have raised millions of dollars for projects throughout Africa, Asia and South America. In 2009, NYU awarded Courtney the Reynolds Fellowship in Social Entrepreneurship. Courtney harbors a deep love for fashion blogs, socially-conscious handbag businesses (she owns one!) and west-highland white terriers.
Jamie Braaten
Marketing and Project Manager
Jamie is HD MADE’s Marketing and Project Manager and social media fanatic. She is a graduate of General Electric’s Commercial Leadership Program, and went on to handle partnerships and product launches for the electric vehicle team within GE’s Industrial Solutions business. Jamie successfully launched 3 products in less than one year in both Europe and North America. She was also responsible for leading the business’s first product-specific social media efforts. When she’s not keeping the team on time, on deadline and tweeting, she’s running up and down the east river. Usually in search of the best mac & cheese.
Kevin Cruz
Designer
Our master of design, Kevin, is a recent graduate from F.I.T. who began as an intern at HD MADE. Kevin's design aesthetic derives from his experience with web design, interactive design, illustration, and was sharpened by growing up in New York. Kevin is a graphic designer by day, and asleep by night; unless it’s the weekend, in which case he's probably making awesome music.
Della Baines
Developer
Della is a lead application developer for HD Made. She has a wealth of professional experience starting 12 years ago with programming online continuing education courses to developing full-stack web applications today. Della holds a Computer Science degree from North Carolina State University. She likes math books at the beach and walking for miles with her dog, Emmet.
Amy Parlapiano
Content Producer
Amy is our social media guru. She graduated from The University of Michigan in 2012, with over three years of freelance writing experience under her belt. She’s contributed to ESPN: The Magazine, espnW.com, Time Out NY and Fast Company, among others. During football season, she can be found banging her head against a wall while watching her misery-inducing New York Jets.
